Hi All
1999 Morgan 4/4 with ford Zetec 1.8 petrol engine. During an annual service I was oiling the throttle cable. There is a plastic cylindrical chamber incorporated in the throttle cable that I have always assumed contains a quick release mechanism or some sort of adjustment. The cable from the throttle body enters the top and the cable from the bottom carries on to the pedal. See photo 1
This year I decided to open the chamber and take look inside. There is a u shaped metal removable clip that retains the top cap. You can see what it looks like after the top cap is removed in picture 2. To my amazement there is nothing inside the chamber other than the cable inner passing straight through see picture 3. I am intrigued, has anyone any idea as to what this chamber is for or meant to achieve ??
Regards Tony
