Sewin Yes ive give the rack plenty of the red and tacky grease i use on the king pins its hard to get hold off .When i first got the car the suspension was hard and steering stiff with lack of use but 100% better now .I think the gators split and get missed on mots because they split at the top un seen.ps not got to the ferry yet but we will this year thanks for the info weather permitting.

Personally I think Red n Tacky is a bit stiff for steering racks, better to use a semi fluid grease as the stiff stuff gets forced out of the wear points and stays out, you need something to gently flow

ps, anyone found a source of the Red n Tacky, as it went NA last year ?

I think there was a fire which interupted supply, but seems OK now

I use Morris Deltaplex 2EP; a red, extreme pressure grease that I have used for years on my king pins. Readily available online from Opie Oils down in Redruth, Cornwall
