I'm hopefully going to buy a 3.7 Roadster soon and if I do, the first job will be a sports exhaust.

Side exit or rear exit? **** Or anyone near York whom has one or t'other that I can come and have a listen to? ****

I wont be touring in it, just quick 30-60 min blasts to cricket, bakery and the school run etc.

My main requirements are pops & crackles and a lovely sound. Does having the side exhausts spoil the harmony of both pointing to the same direction?

Hi Richard, I fitted the factory side pipes to my 3.7 Roadster several years ago. It's never going to sound like a V8 with cross plane crank, as are most US ones, but it does give a lovely banshee wail at higher revs coupled with crackles on the overrun.

Retro-fitting requires you either move the L shaped exhaust bobbin bracket to bolt through the chassis forward of the cross member or fabricate an extension to extend the normally positioned mounting point forwards - see below. In each case this allows for the shorter silencers with integrated diffusers.

Although this bracketry looks clumsy, it bolts up solid and has been fine on my car for 30,000 miles. It also saves pulling out the trim to retrieve the L shaped bracket plus captive stud plate and saves drilling chassis for new position - obviously not an issue when building a new car.

Wolf Performance still offer them. Click on image below.

Talk to Krazy Horse and they can do a switchable side exit so you can have it quiet or very noisy.

Just had rear-exit LiBrands sports exhaust fitted by Williams and it makes the best of the re-map. Sounds better too with a burble on over-run - it was previously too quiet and I got bored with the sound of the +8s trying to keep up hide
