We used to take soft bags rather than hard cases.
With the boot full the lid needs to stay up as a sensor gets fussy. The gap between the rear lights is actually a bit narrow so the soft bags sorted this. The shape is quite difficult due to the mechanism and re brace to keep the car from shaking.
Nearly everyone at SFO rental ended up putting their hard cases on the back seat so they could drop the lid.
A few smaller ones is a better but slightly annoying bet. Which conflicts with the airlines 1-2 bag policy. We carried 2 of them as our carry on bags.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Last year, we took a Mustang on our four-week road trip through the western United States. Two cabin trolleys and a large Eastpak Tranverz L were no problem for the trunk. There was still enough room for some jackets and small purchases.
I would have preferred a Camaro for our trip. Unfortunately, there was no room for all the luggage.

We we enjoyed the Mustang. Thanks for the help. We found 2 small hard cases and two larger squishy bags fitted. We could even get our 2 ruck sacks in the boot. Here is my half plus the stang near Pebble Beach and the classic Yosemite view. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/07/30/1000045133.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/07/30/1000044369.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/07/30/1000044148.jpg)

.Love the holiday photos which bring back great memories . First went to Yosemite in 1979 in a Camaro or Firebird and it became over several visits my wife’s favourite place. Sadly like all beautiful places and increased tourism it became rammed and friends who went fairly recently said the numbers spoilt it.
If you say it was OK in July we might get tempted back . Love to hear your view as after all I now know how much luggage we can take ! . Have always managed to get a room but one time my wife said let’s stay in a half tent (wood floor etc) but it was so near a toilet block it felt like we had an on suite but everyone was using it . Ablutions and whooshing hand dryers until 1 am and early risers at 4 am …..we moved next dat to a lodge ! Best MM PS Photo not quite up to Ansel Adams level but still wonderful……. PPS Assume the Mustang more comfortable than your Morgan ,

Mike, the valley floor was very busy around lunch. We stayed in a cottage at Tenaya Lodge at Fish Camp so an easy drive. As usual go early and avoid the crowds. Glacier Point & Olmsted Point were not bad at all. Tenaya Lake got busy. Weekend days were worse than the week days.
The stang was very comfortable and the power hood really easy. The auto on the CX is better though.
