Time will tell, but I'm sure that history will judge that a trad 4/4 or +4 is the sweet spot in Morgan ownership and history.......😆

You can't sell a £100k + luxury sports car with sidescreens and a leaky hood in this market...... or not for long, certainly only until buyers wake up.........

There will be opportunity to learn all about the trads at the Morgan heritage center on the site of the closed down factory in a couple of years............😤🤷🏻‍♂️☹️

I sit here this morning reading the comments from my post, and feel rather guilty of putting a negative vibe out regarding My Plus 6. Every car I suppose has the good, bad and ugly attributes. And I reckon if it is going to be your third car, 3 to 4 k a year for pure fun days out and a trip to France, it will obviously do the job. And to reiterate, I was hard on my car over 3 years. And it was the salt in the roads which wrecked the window surrounding and the the fuel filler, and rusted the fittings which held all the plastic inners on, hence falling onto the tyres🤷‍♂️. The water ingress was the worst . Again because I often left it out in winter. Even with factory hard top. Water rolled down and found its way under the mats, which of course don’t come out the car unless you take seat out!

You can’t really compare my RS product I now have on my drive against a Morgan. It’s a totally different animal. Refinement, water tight, solid. What I will point out is that my 3 year old used RS was 52k. 2 years warranty, cheaper to insure and tax. It will still lose money, but not £42k over 3 years like my Plus 6 did.

As some of you know I live near the factory, Plus six now out of production, Plus 4 next ?

Please all enjoy your cars, I’ll probably be jealous when I see you out in them. Enjoy .

I'd imagine that your 'being hard on the car' is the basic level of development and quality control that a 'normal' manufacturer would undertake.............🤷🏻‍♂️

My greatest Morgan fun was from the mid 80's to the mid 90's with my CVH 4/4 and Kent 4/4 4 seater, good basic fun, you got cold and wet and just dressed accordingly. Having said that all the mass production cars of that era weren't much to write about by comparison. I remember when they first introduced ABS, I always made a mental note of the cars around me on the motorways and which had ABS as I never braked too hard in my company car fitted with ABS as I might collect someone up my backside as I could out brake them. Those were the days............

.

I don't think you were unfairly critical, it 's now part and parcel of the new CX Morgan ownership reality.

I think the Midsummer limited edition in collaboration with outside designers may be the way forward for Morgan. Developing exclusive cars for markets such as the Middle East where the likes of hoods and other everyday considerations just don't matter, as much as the pursuit of exclusivity, is more key to the ownership buying criteria. Why deal with mere mortals if you can gain access to the really wealthy.

This thread has been enlightening; this week I have been offered an unregistered MY25 plus four for over £12k off list price; it’s got me really interested but also quite alarmed that with a very small amount of haggling I could get that off. To be clear this is on a showroom car that is ready to go.

I still really like them and I am hoping to secure one this month but I’ve decided this morning that I won’t be doing a factory order and I will definitely be going the PCP route so that I can limit exposure.alternatively I might just by another cheap classic that’s fun to drive knowing it will be more affordable to jump in and out of……

In which case, don't rule out a Trad. smirk2

Indeed. If MMC can get their products into Veblen Goods territory they can relax a bit. But I think they might need to get their production quality absolutely nailed to do so. No more radiator debacles.

That's the thing about flogging stuff to die-hard enthusiasts, we've always been prepared to forgive. The ultra-wealthy are a good deal less patient.
