I've had a couple with double vision lasting about 10 - 15 minutes. Was scanned but nothing untoward found.

The vision consequences are scary. While I was in hospital a man was admitted, maybe early 60's, looked fit and clean cut, but it blinded him without warning, and no other effects. Perhaps it will resolve but the whole thing is a lottery. There is a tenuous link with migraine with aura, which I started getting in my 60s. Not often, maybe twice a year, but I had one the night before the stroke, and as usual there was no pain, but the visual disturbance was darker than the usual Scintillating Scotoma, which is what I get.

It could maybe be migraine doing yours Bob. The Consultant told me that migraines can present similar to strokes, separated after the MRI scan.

Does migraine not involve pain. I didn't have any.

Migraine with aura for me never has pain, and that's the usual with aura. Also I don't think double vision is attributed to migraine specifically, but visiual disturbances is.

Sadly I cancelled the hotels and gave the tickets away. Even if I hadn't it's a long trip after five weeks of recovery, and it looks like being hot too.

I think you did the right thing Dave, especially a long drive in the potential heat forecast

Pauline & I send our best wishes for your continued recovery
