Richard your the expert but that was my conclusion as a mkII

I drove up to Allon White's to let them give the 4/4 a thorough going over as well as refitting my original leather covered dashboard.

My rad has sprung a small leak so it'll be swapped with an alloy one, it's 17 years old so surely this must be some sort of record for a Morgan radiator.....!!!😆.....perhaps I should sent it back to the factory so they can work out how it lasted so long.......!

A leaky rear shock absorber so we'll replace all 4 adjustable ones.
Warped discs so new discs and pads....
A few other bits and bobs and fit some brake reaction bars...... not sure when I'll be able to pick it up as their workshop is absolutely flat out.....!!!!!

|Good to hear that the workshops are busy, mind you it is that time of year. How's it feel to be back in the Morgan owning community, I see the rad leak made you feel right at home again.

Enjoyed an 88 mile rumble around the countryside via as many back roads as I could find in the old +8, on what was a wonderful weather day for exactly such a pastime.. (-:

While bumbling along I came on an opening on what was a very large country estate wall which had at one time provided access to that which would likely have been the tied cottage and woodsman`s workshop housing a very old saw bench...now all derelict. Remembering just the other rambling on to OZ relative to the evolution of old cars as they reached the end of their design life, their chassis and drive trains being turned to a more practical use by way of saw benches etc.etc.etc, then rediscovered and being restored to possible concours winners...(-: Thus thought to grab a pic of the big old circular saw drive motor and bench.... Unfortunately not a Bentley or Bugatti Royale chassis in use for the bench, just a couple off very stout timbers...(-:
Looks like before the electric motor there may have been a belt drive system in use, given the pulley and shafting mounted on the far wall...?

BTW, just thought to add that the last Bugatti Royale was discovered a few decades back in a large old house with a tumbledown garage no more than a couple of miles or so from where I live...(-:

Looks like an interesting find George, and it was a great day for a relaxing trip in a wooden car! We have an estate on our doorstep that's in similar condition to the one you stumbled upon today. Horse stables still in the condition they were in when the last remaining member of the family passed. There are even fires set in the servants rooms in the big house ready to light with newspapers dating from the 70s according to the current estate workers.

The 'spotted today' thread has slipped way down into the historical mire .... but someone was driving their Morgan yesterday.

Dark green/blue 2 seater heading south from Perth on the M9 towards Edinburgh about 8.00 ish yesterday evening ... perfect weather for it.

Sadly I could only look on enviously as I was in my tow-van pulling the MG racer back from a singularly unsuccessful test at Knockhill, which involved it totally eviscerating its carbon silencer (amazing how much 'string' drags out behind the car!) ... without it the resulting racket would have been an instant black flag ... hence an early bath. 😒

Sorry to read of your Knockhill misadventure K, I bent my 911 there many decades back, but only a rear quarter, while playing last of the late breakers at the end of the straight.... Oops..! Fortunately I repaired it myself, so not much in the way of costs involved other than cataloy, paint,and not much patience with myself... Duh..!

I am fortunate to have a country estate locally which makes for interest in my morning walks up the long drive to the big hoose, also no longer lived in but recently the windows have been boarded up and painted black to tidy it up a bit, seemingly infested with dry rot but the roof has had maintenance too thus being preserved to some degree. Interesting how the equivalent of the then top 1% lived back then compared to the rest, whoever determined what goes around, comes around seems to have been not far wrong..?

Think I best post a pic of a Morgan lest I be accused of going too far off topic and into social commentary, though still linked to some degree as I parked up just alongside that which I imagine might have been the woodsman`s tiny cottage alongside perhaps the wood store for the big hoose... ?

Waited till after my evening meal last night and headed out in to the cooler evening air, enjoyed a circa 80 mile rumble mostly around Stirlingshire`s back roads, as expected the roads I chose had only the occasional vehicle on the move, so more or less had the place to myself... also as expected I found it best heading in an approximately Easterly direction when possible to avoid the glaring sun the nearer it dropped to the horizon, which was somewhat blinding, making driving into the shadows a bit of a leap of faith, all a bit of a challenge at times but well worth it...

Been using the Mog quite a bit this year, and I suspect both the Mog and I may benefitting to some degree from that... If this habit keeps up I may have to contact my insurers to up the mileage limit...(-: However when I think about Global warming, I suffer the occasional bout of feeling guilty burning fuel purely for my own pleasure... Hmm...!

Should any be interested in the pic, the hills are a mix of Stirlingshire, and the more distant in Clackmannanshire, which is on the North side of the River Forth.

Last night we went out in the company of a 2CV from east of Craven Arms to Bishop’s Castle, Clun, and Kinighton for supper at The Lion in Leintwardine and then home via Bromfield. Lovely weather, rolling hills and unusually for Shropshire mostly pothole free roads.

A short drive out yesterday evening, a keen photographer I know wanted to practice his skills on my car. For 130,000 miles and over 39 years I think it doesn't look too bad at all.
