Day 8 ... Last in the UK
First stop on the way to the ferry in Harwich is Pristine Penal Work where David's and Roger's Morgan DHC is parked. PPW has been commissioned to rebuild the body of the DHC. The owner trained at MMC and then worked there for several years. Sheet metal is cut and shaped with a hammer. I feel like I'm in Pickersleigh Road, exactly the same manual labour.
After a thorough inspection of the DHC, we say goodbye to David and Roger and wish them every success with their project.
We continue on to Little Halingbury where we have an appointment with Malvyn Rutter. An exhausting drive in the heat over B roads to get there on time. I'm now a specialist in driving roundabouts on the left.
Malvyn tells us a lot about special Morgan vehicles. He is a walking encyclopaedia. There are many historic vehicles in his building.
We go to the second floor where the huge Morgan spare parts warehouse is located. Shelves upon shelves of parts for all kinds of Morgans. Harry, Bert's co-pilot, owns a Morgan +8 and gets wide-eyed when he sees the warehouse and says: "This is heaven"
We take a farewell photo and then continue on to Harwich to the ferry where we arrive at sunset .

Day 8 ... Last of the trip
In the morning on the ferry off Hoek van Holland, the group says goodbye to each other. The people on board from MSCCH are a great group. We had a lot of fun and it was very interesting and instructive for me as a relative newcomer to the Morgan world.
The only small thing that happened on the trip concerning the Morgans was once again my passenger door. The inside handle was no longer functional for the third time.
As we were collecting Ruuts PlusFour from his dealer Louwman in Utrecht, he asked if it was possible to repair the door handle straight away. We also received an immediate response. This was the third Morgan dealer on the trip. The repair was carried out quickly and properly and we then made our way to Sittard.
On this route from Utrecht to Sittard I was allowed to ride Ruut's PlusFour and test his Nitrons. It's a completely different driving experience. The Nitrons are great! Now it's time to convince the Good Lady to invest.
After a quick lunch snack at Ruut's, I continued on to the Black Forest. It was 800 km on the last day and a total of 3,500 km for the trip.
England was great and I'm sure we'll see each other again.

END

Not visited for a while.

Wow! What a view from the top - you lot should get out of the cake shop and head up North Hill.

No donkeys to take us up these days though, or water cure either.
