Certainly currently being a two seater does restrict the market you can appeal to whilst the advertising material is for young DINKYS ( Dual income no children) or whatever expression they use these days for the young upwardly mobile, it is more likely that the age section that has a grown family and more disposable income are more inclined to be the buyers ie in the 50 plus age range,

Not only Uncle Melvin, Richard Thorne et al but also in my neck of the woods, Berrybrook, who will no longer stock new cars, although they will still remain Morgan specialists and, apparently, still be able to special order new cars directly from MMC.

They feel that the cost of stocking and ordering build slots is no longer justified, which now coincides with a fairly serious market downturn, that has already been discussed here. They have sufficient customers to keep their servicing side busy and already have a niche steam section, the largest in the country apparently and are building up their model division with a 1st floor on their portacabin! They are, as I understand it, soon going into the s/h spares side too, but I may be wrong on that one, time will tell.

I bought a new tintop from a main dealer in February (Snows Mazda) and a few weeks later got a letter informing me that the dealer was closing with immediate effect.

There will be reasons unique to Morgan, of course, but Googling car dealerships closing brings up a plethora of recent articles. Franchised dealership closures would seem to be an industry-wide phenomenon.

Sir P

I think Ledgerwoods bailed out over two years ago when the minimum stock levels (because of CX prices) became excessive, and Phil had retired

MR still has a new, delivery miles, Le Mans 62 special edition CX from 2022........ 2022.......!!!!🤷🏻‍♂️
No wonder he doesn't want to stock new cars.....!!!!!😁

If the dealers can't sell the cars, that doesn't seem like a huge vote of confidence in the brand....or the product.....
I accept that the 'toy' market is almost non existent and they're the first thing to go when times are hard.
Perhaps the Italians are targeting a new and different market that no one else has seen yet......!!!

Just noticed the contact details for Oakwood (Cheshire); christopherneil.co.uk

Bought my Elan Sprint DHC from them in the early ‘80’s, they also had TVRs. I had a test drive, but found it (unsurprisingly) lacking in finesse when cornering compared to the Elan.

I thought the name had gone when one of the founders of the company passed away.

There are alot of dealers on that list... they've been busy alright.
If they can make each dealer take just one of each model that will keep the factory going for months! Very clever when you think about it.
