asked this question on pistonheads but thought that it might be worth repeating here:

selling my current 2 seater and have had a life long love of the traditional sports car - 2 seats, open car that is fun to drive. But we now have a dog so ideally I need a car with space behind the two seats for wufta. 911 apart, is there such a thing?

Some classics would work - TR6 and Big Healey for example, but my spannering days are over and I want something that ideally would be every day useable and maybe even dealer serviced. I dont rule out a classic but I am not interested or even physically capable of "getting out and getting under". So any classic would have had to have been subject to a full body off restoration.

Price? Less than the £60k that my current toy is going for.

Ideas?. any Morgans suitable bearing in mind every day use.

If you need room for a dog, appreciate a bit of comfort, need something that can still be dealer serviced

Thanks Graham but the Mini convertible is useless for the dog because of the way that the hood etc onstrict space. As it happens we have a Cooper S anyway but somehow the sunroof doesnt "do it".

As for the JCW, I was daft enough to take SWMBO along for a test drive in one and that got banned on the usual "you'll kill yourself" argument.

The S class convertible is a really stunning car, not many about, and there are plenty of local dealerships and specialists around to look after them. without having to travel far. If I was after a strict 2 seater then the brutish MB AMG GT drophead would be my first choice.
