Thanks Luddite for post.such an interesting pair of chaps.The garage full of bits that they know exactly what is what ! The old oil can amazing bit of kit and the home made roller starter. But the end part about Ivor loving Morgan 3 wheelers was testament to Morgan if you think what cars he has owned.
It is ever comforting to know that I am not alone in feeling very at home with bringing old machinery back to life, it has ever been the way I was able to experience machinery that otherwise I could never have had the pleasure of riding/driving... Though have to say that Ivan and John together have far exceeded anything I could ever have managed.... (-:
A bit like Ivan though considerably less so, I have another couple of road rockets available to me, but as Dave suggested in his recent post, along the lines of when the time is right, the only keys likely to be reached for are those of the Morgan... (-:
B.B. I can well associate your thinking re Ivan`s continued fondness for Morgan three wheelers, given all else he has owned and driven over the years, no more so than my last couple of drives out in my old +8 in the recent hot weather, either bumbling along listening to the rather.. err.. "poorly" silenced engine/exhaust, taking in the sights sounds and smells of the countryside on B roads, then when an interesting twisting and well known mile or so of Tarmac presents it`s self, opening up the taps just a little to demand an extra degree of pilot participation in terms of steering and gearing input over each and every road surface imperfection, to then return to bumbling along and feeling very satisfied with life.. What`s more to want... Good old Morgan..(-:

There is a member on TM who has a garage and shed full of Morgans to build . He is restoring a 3w super sport and a Coupe . Has a collection of New Imperial bikes. He is like Ivor can pick up a part and tell you what engine it is from etc. His knowledge is unbelievable
