Hi All. Thought I would report back after my initial post. I took on board most of the advice above as well as (on the advice of a mechanic at MMC) greasing the mating surfaces of the bonnet catches. Hey Presto! Squeaking noise gone!

To say I was pleased is an understatement. I cannot definitively state which measure did the trick but in combination (cable management aside) the noise has been completely eradicated! Hallelujah!

Glad it's cured Andy, as tracing Mog squeaks is a bit hit n miss thumbs

Thanks for this thread. My MY22 P4 just developed the what sounds like the same type of creak in the area of the bottom of the windscreen. I wrote a list of the fixes suggested in the thread above and started by driving with the drivers side rear bonnet latch undone (I wedged a cloth in the rear edge of the open bonnet) — this immediately fixed the noise. So I assume noise was due to the bonnet rubbing on the cord.

I tried lubricating the cord with some boot wax — which worked for about 10 mins. Then applied some silicon grease to the cord with my fingers - which seems to have done the job more permanently. see pic.

Thanks all for the various bits of advice!

I also had to learn that at Morgan it's not just the lubrication of the grease nipples and leaf springs that should be ‘lubricated’...

I found that using any type of lubricant on the bonnet tapes resulted in a mess when cleaning the car. Dirt picks up on the tapes and despite care, I always found that it would soon inadvertently transfer to my cleaning/polishing cloths and if unnoticed, would then smear onto the paintwork.
So I keep my tapes dry but apply the fluffy side of adhesive Velcro to the underside of the bonnet edges.. It also protects the paint and aluminium which over time, gets worn away particularly on the curves, by rubbing action against the tapes.
As I also had some rattles when going over uneven ground, in addition, I have applied lengths of traditional universal door foam-rubber seals along the protruding edge of the hinges along the length of the bonnets.
