It is interesting that its not a standard option to have body color or otherwise rims and wheel arches as this seems to be a very classic look of the car.

Oh dear, I may be in trouble then, as I've chosen my body colour to match the front mudguards and wheels, as I couldn't do it the other way around!

I believe they are purchased pre-painted Yes, this is how I understand it to be the case, but it may be cheaper for them to repaint them the color of your choice than to do it yourself and attempt to make it match on your own. This is unless you can buy the same paint from Morgan, which would at least make that part of it easier. My main point was just that it is not provided as a standard option to change as I am sure plenty would opt for different color wheel arches and rims.

I don't know, to be honest, but I think I prefer black (perhaps matte black) when it comes to the wheel arches. I think that, depending on "hull" colour, it might be a bit too much having them in the same colour. Black at least matches the rubber and spokes.

Whilst Morgan may be saying "you can have mudguards in any colour you like as long as it is black" it may be that for the first few they are trying to avoid bespoke options as much as possible. I personally have found them so obliging on little extras that I can't help thinking that, for a price, they would do body colour on the guards, at least once the first rush is out of the way. Why don't you ask what they would charge?

Maybe the designer had an idea that it should have a fender-less look...or? With black fenders tightly following the curve of the wheel it actually looks a bit like that from a distance.
