That's my solution. I'm the type of person who likes to rest my head... and the safety feature is also there.
My local saddler made it for me.

I'm on shaky ground here but those various "neck rolls" look to me to radically change the angles of the head and neck in the case of a rear end accident. They surely would make things worse?
I'd be delighted to be shown to be wrong.

Nick, I don’t really know, mine from Allon White are quite soft. If I lean back I can compress the roll until my head hits the head restraint.
Having said that with the seat position that allows me to reach the pedals without being too close to the steering wheel. Being a short **se my head still doesn’t touch the head roll.

I got my neck rolls from Uncle Melvyn. They are soft and I have no concerns about potential risk. The only time they really get used is when MrsW is asleep on the motorway at 70mph with the roof down. Which is quite an art.

I worry when Mrs F falls asleep in the Morgan. Her head tends to roll around a bit - I have visions of being pulled over to make sure she is still alive.

I don’t know how she does it. At night, if a mouse treads on a blade of grass in the next village she is instantly wide awake and disgruntled. Yet she can fall asleep in a Morgan, hood down on a motorway.

Our neck rolls are quite squishy, so don't think they would add to any unwanted restraint

I always thought one of the advantages is that they act as a bit of a wind blocker in the rear neck area, certainly helps keep my navigator happy
