As a local I would not be comfortable driving up the narrow Totnes high street as my +4 has a side exit, they would be blown away Man! Sadly since my days in the 70s I think the number of watering holes has fallen. A great place Totnes but keep it quiet. Still loads John, reduced since 1600 though when it was the richest town in England.

Round trip yesterday and today to MMC. Car was booked in to sort a cracked sidescreen frame. All done under warranty plus a couple of minor checks. There is also bubbling on a windscreen pillar to be done so booked back late October for this. I needed the sidescreen sorting before a trip to Scotland in a couple of weeks so they squeezed me in for that one before I go. Got there by 08.00 yesterday, overnight stay in the Abbey Hotel to leave extra time if needed. Nice trip. Had a look at Supersports there. One hardtop with matching hardtop. Gold colour. Also a blue softtop. The softtop looked better with a black roof. I think a contrasting colour hardtop would be nicer than matched in many colour choices. There is a superb Plus Four in the showroom. Green metallic with dark grey/black interior. Looked stunning. The hotel was nice. Lots there on a bus tour, ballroom dancing lessns in one suite. No, I refrained. No glitterball/Blackpool ambitions. There were a couple of nice cars there. A nice TR4 and an immaculate Austin Ambassador Vanden Plas. The plan was to stop in Ledbury on the way home but A449 was closed so we had to change the route. Ledbury was a nice stop for coffee/ snack. Heads of the Valleys is now back to top level for eating up the miles. Traffic was light so good progress made.

I joined RichardV6 at the Gardeners Arms Tostock to enjoy the sight of a Major , a Ransome's Traction Engine in steam. They also do a great pint of Timmy Tailors Bolt cutter. As the weather is predicted to get wet & windy I also wanted to give the CX a run. It wa great to be in the cx after being way in the USA driving a loan Mustang. The Mustang is really a big car compared to the Mog. The CX felt far more aggressive, smaller and noisier. I loved it. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/08/02/1000045654.jpg) P.S. I have no idea why the second one of the pictures looks distorted. It is fine on the phone. I think I have discovered the answer to that. I uploaded a photo in portrait format last night to find tm-img had squashed the pic into landscape format. It was taken at Dartmouth Castle and I have since deleted it. Will contact Peter/Tim once home to see if that can be changed.

You didn't happen to take the original shot in Panorama mode, did you?
