As the sun is full on I drove down to the beach for a walk . I enjoyed the walk and the long drive back

Not today, but for the past 15 days we have been on the road with our Morgan.

[Linked Image]
The first day was very arduous. We struggled along German autobahns to our first hotel in the southern Harz region.

Glashütte.Enthusiasts of mechanical watches should definitely stop here and visit the small museum

[Linked Image]
We drive along wonderful small and tiny roads to the Czech Republic.

Prague is our destination here. A fantastic city, but like all destinations worth seeing, very crowded.

[Linked Image]
So we decide not to spend the following day in Prague, but in the southern surroundings and find this beautiful view of the Vltava River.

Evening approaches and a certain nervousness arises. Completely unfounded, because our little MOG and we are being transported safely by rail to Slovakia overnight.

[Linked Image]
A quick fill-up of the tank and then it's time to discover a country that is new to us.

We then find the type of road we like the most.

The "hobbit caves" of Liptovská Teplička.
(In reality, they are old storehouses for the villagers.)

Our vehicle is being moved. On September 2nd, after 15 months, we reach the 10,000 km mark. Another 2,000 kilometers are to follow in the next few days.

Three days later, my smartphone shows me a flashback from two years ago. Back then, during our road trip through England and Wales, we spent a few days in Malvern. We visited the production facility and rented a Plus Four for a day. After that, we were hooked.

Almost like the Loire in France, Bojnice Castle

As car fans, we naturally don't miss the Tatra Museum in the Czech Republic and admire the bold shapes and the air-cooled eight-cylinder rear engines.

[Linked Image]
Along the Polish border, we enjoy the almost deserted roads.

[Linked Image]
A gem in a remote region. A wonderful little hotel with excellent cuisine.

[Linked Image]
We're now back in Germany, in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

[Linked Image]
We divide our journey home into several stages. We visit Dresden (highly recommended!) and, in the evening, Leipzig in the rain.

The following day, the weather is also kind to us. At least initially. Shortly before our destination for the day, the northern Harz Mountains, the waterproofness of our MOG is put to the test.

The last day of our vacation: away from expressways and highways, we reach the outskirts of Bremen.

That was our road trip to Eastern Europe.

Gerald, thank you for the great pictures. What a wonderful trip you two had. It doesn't always have to be Italy or France. Eastern Europe obviously has a lot to offer. And so do some beautiful spots in eastern Germany. Two weeks ago, I spent four days in the Harz Mountains with my 4/4 and an old friend, mostly hiking. One invaluable advantage: it's in many areas the opposite of crowded if not spots like Prague.. A few years ago, my wife and I visited Friuli and Slovenia with the Mog and had a similar experience, even on the Italian side.

BTW, your rims look very nice on your Mog. Are they the same as the ones on the BMW Plus 8, or do they just look similar but are a different size? Made by Image Wheels?
PS The picture of you two in the wooden frame is very charming!

Many thanks for sharing your interesting adventure and in pictures too... thumbs
Some claim that Porsche copied aspects of the design of Tatra to create the VW, in that Tatra had both a rear mounted and air cooled engine..
