Sorry. Off topic even more than normal. In a polish vodka bar and almost half way down the menu. Apparently my phone privileges are being removed now. Probably a good thing đł Wishing everyone a good weekend. Hug a loved one.

But why did they have to make it look like the awkward love child of marvin the paranoid android and a whale? Put that platform under a Pagoda SL look-a-like and ride the wave of love it would generate. How else are you going to combat the instant iterative capabilities of BYD ? It makes me quite sad.
I think the reasons that most manufacturers cars are starting to morph into the same thing is a combination of a pressing need to get better and better aerodynamics, the need to have a long wheel base to house the battery, combined with all the manufacturers using the same design tools, topped off with the installation of the biggest screen they can fit on the inside.
I think it would be brilliant if solid state batteries can come through which will take away the pressing need for better and better aerodynamics, will not require a long wheelbase and hopefully then someone has the balls to launch something genuinely interesting looking with reduced driver distractions in the interior.
Probably just as well I don't run a car company though, as it wouldn't fit into the white goods world that car companies seem to be heading towards.
Sorry i failed to explain well as usual. When i made the joke about styling I was talking about the EQS and itâs even more bloated âoff roadâ model. Your comments about the Oanda/BYD stuff does remain true. A pinch of this and a pinch of that. To be fair I do think the BYD Seal coupe shape is quite well resolved.
I like the way Hyundai have made cars like the Ionic 5 and 6 as quite standout styles. Even their smaller models are well resolved. I looked closely at an i30n the other day., very well executed. If only Mercedes would have made the EQE more like the pre C class 190E as a possible example. Oanda and BYD have little heritage to trade on. For the mature audience a loss but for the new or Chinese market, which is MASSIVE in its own right, maybe a benefit.

Back to Ed China. What a scare mongering article. The contacters on my MG EV are in the engine compartment at the front. The HV cables feed into it via a connector plug that is used to disconnect the HV side at servicing. They ain't buried in the battery.
What happened to facts based journalism?

I actually feel that the EV designs from most of the "up and coming" automakers bear little or no resemblance to the "major" marques. Tesla, for example, don't remind me of anything in particular and BYD, Hyundai, Kia and MG are quite distinctive IMHO.
Also I'm not sure why you think that their approach "smacks of desperation" BYD, for example, now make four times more EV's than the largest European EV maker (VW) and more cars worldwide than BMW.
Interesting indeed. Does not look so good from the front... I guess with a boom box in the boot, playing exhaust notes of your choice, it could be a lot of fun...? Think I will just stick with my Mog, but thanks for posting..
A very interesting site. I don't mean that as "damn them" as I actually have a great respect for their commitment and focus. But remain deeply worried that within 1-2 generations it is going to become interesting as highlighted by Trump-ets goal of on-shoring (fat chance) for the USA to recover their economy.
(I had better find a good rock to hide under after sharing that pattern)
