The only way for you to see whether you like it G, is for you to drive it imho! Let's fix a day during w/c 12th March 2012 off group and you can see how it works, in the meantime you can read my driving impressions here! (at the bottom of the page).

The 3W front wheels are what I believe are called "side laced". The spokes meet the rim at the outer half, so the inner half of the rim carries no spokes. It's visible in my photos from today at Ledgerwoods, but not obvious. I really don't know whether that's an advantage or not but the old 3W in the photo has centre laced wheels by the look.

I had a very close look. I wonder why they aren't center-laced on the new one. It doesn't make much sense to me to do it off to one side.

I bet it's because the wheel makers usually makes wheels for "closed" wheel cases and that people want the spokes to be as far out towards to tyre wall as possible.

I'd prefer center laced myself - especially since you can see the wheel from both sides and I bet it would flex (a little) less.

Brake calliper clearance more likely, obviously not an issue with drum brakes in the good old days as this pic shows

Yes, the S&S 2-1 intake for the X-Wedge will fit the Morgan. We haven't installed one yet on a car, but there is no reason it shouldn't work fine. Although it looks like it should be a ram air system, the front of the filters are closed so in normal operation it really isn't a ram air system.
