The hose is from Amazon. A 2.5m length of what is described as “aluminium flexible pipe alloy air ducting tube heat resistant hose”. Mine is 70mm inside diameter but currently cannot find this. 75mm inside diameter is currently available at £8.60 from the INPAV Store whatever that is and would be better than 70mm I believe.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Chris, it's a lovely job thumbs

Stupidly I raised the back of my Plus Four's hood without unlocking one of the side Tenax fasteners which duly sheared just below the bodywork!!! Having gotten a replacement in the local yacht chandlers which has two Screws -one either side of the stud, I fitted it, which sorts the problem --Yes-- I did buy 2 fittings as I'm sure I'll do it to the other side sometime in the future too!!!---DOH!!

I know what you mean, btw there are also stainless steel Tenaxes made in Germany, I think more resistant than the brass-chromed!

Last week an issue with the rear brakes binding finally reached the top of the job pile.

On raising the rear wheels off the ground and slackening the handbrake adjuster, which was almost at the end of its travel, the binding significantly reduced thus confirming the handbrake adjustment was amiss. By taking the adjuster nut in the cradle right to the end of the threadbar, both wheels rotated freely.

Being not particularly happy with this arrangement, it was decided to extend the cable adjuster threadbar. The thread was carefully measured by pressing a piece of paper against it to form an imprint and found to be 1/4" BSF 26. Fleabay was duly raided for a stainless threadbar connector (couldn't find a hex profile at this thread so made do with a cylinder), a short length of threadbar and a pair of hex nuts.

The scary part of this task was the necessity to cut insitu the existing cable adjuster threadbar to a length of about 10mm. Enter a 115mm thin cutting disk and suitable thick cardboard protection. The short stub thread was cleaned up with a thread die and the stainless connector screwed down with threadlock. The new threadbar with a pair of locknuts was inserted into the adjuster cradle and tensioned using one of the original locknuts.

The protruding thread inside the cradle was then protected with a length of plastic tube.

No more brake binding and lots of adjustment available on the threadbar. Handbrake works just fine. Job done.
