Is politics and politicians not the game it ever was, the unfortunate thing is that WE all have too much access to that which went on in the former smoke filled rooms and far beyond, the logical (?) end product of which seems to be the breakdown of "civil" society... The seemingly logical next step is to re-install a sense of responsibility, by ever closer digital monitoring of the individual, a bit like they seemingly do in China, and it seems digital I.D. cards are a bit late on the scene compared to the way our lives have been increasingly digitally monitored over a couple of decades....Not in the slightest bit concerned, it is that which it is... Regardless of one`s political religious or any other bias..?

Politicians need accountability. How will that ever happen? Every country is wash with failed politicians. They often wash up in the EU.

As a civil servant, if I lied, or fabricated my CV, or failed to meet educational standards, I would have been sacked.

Those rules don't apply to politicians. And so the voters react accordingly.
