Originally I used a wooden rod as a dipstick but today I repurposed some ali bar into a more professional version.
Dead easy to do and easy to wipe dry between checking one side and the other. The wood soaked up the fluid so it was less easy to read.

Why there can't be expansion tanks with clear sides I don't know. But I now the tool for the job. The second photo shows the long length of bar on the outside so I could mark the halfway point.

I have to agree that it seems strange that morgan can not design a simple external sight gauge to the tank. I believe at one stage William's made similar for the trads. I use an extra long wooden coffee stir stick that we aquired from a service station during our circular trip of France this year. When I realised how useful it was and it was the correct length, I liberated several as spares... rofl

I use a thin wooden stick that would otherwise be supporting a plant, no issue with reading the level. At Thruxton on Saturday I saw a Lotus Cortina with an expansion tank, welded connections top and bottom and a clear plastic pipe connecting these. Makes it easy to see the level.

A sight glass made from polycarbonate tubing works well and doesn't cloud over time as clear plastic tubing does. There again the CX cooling system needs all the help it can get without extra unions maybe thinking.

I use a combo of eyes and middle finger. Eyes to get a rough level and middle finger to touch the fluid. My finger is a good length to reach the coolant. The finger is in a "reverse bird" position so not rude in any way!

It is interesting the the sticker placement on yours to show the 50% level.

The stickers on my Plus Six are wholly on the side of the chambers so the 50% level is actually near the bottom!

Just double checked mine. MY23 Plus Four.
The label show 50% Fill with a level line.
I read that as fill to the line with a 50% concentration coolant.
No mention of Min or Max
I have 18k+ miles so far and perhaps a thimblefull of top up with distilled water using my finger depth gauge with regular checks.
Only one leak found and that was a single drip from a jubilee clamped joint, fixed with a little tightening. All other joints checked and ok.

I've had it confirmed from a Morgan Dealer that the correct level is 50% up the tank, that is with the correct antifreeze.de-min' water mix of 50/50.
