Canada were outplayed in every area. Their raw talent was amazing against New Zealand but was simply no match today for England class . The tackles put in by England stopped Canadian players in their tracks, more often taking them backwards and often dislodging their ball. The 20 point margin did not really reflect the game . It was great to be at Twickenhan and to celebrate England being World Champs.

The earlier French NZ game to was a great watch . After the initial French try, NZ just produced exhibition rugby, running and offloading and looked out of sight. Then France did what they have done several times playing England in the past……they changed their play, put the ball wide and used their wings. It was great to see a fight back but time ran out.
Congrats to all that took part today, it was a great rugby World Cup.

PS I’m still a little shocked at the number of women who use the men’s toilets but even more so at those who used the urinals ! Sure men would be arrested if using the women’s loos !??

England World Champions. Been a while since we have been able to celebrate that but just as importantly they all played their hearts out and gave us cause to be proud of them for what they are as well as what they have achieved.

Just watched the match on iplayer - what a joy to see them silence the cockerels constant crowing by destroying them in France on their journey to The Grand Slam and 38 consecutive Six Nations matches.

Amy Cockayne saluting to their crowd after she put the winner over was perfect as she is RAF and they got the message.

Huge Congratulations to the team, three off pregnant and several injuries makes you realise how strong and deep this side is.

Yes a great game. France never give up and the last two matches with England were unbelievably close. This time they ensured France would and could not win with such a sterling performance. The depth England have is amazing and it was great to see Marlie, making a great selfless pass that gave us a try. She has been on fire these last two games. Hunter and Scarrett, defence and attack coaches is a great reward for their abilities and dedication.
Marlie for Motivation and PR manager after her International career ends….I have a feeling this could be her end and her decision ?
Fabulous record and we all know they should have won the previous World Cup ……I asked Marley and two others how they felt about Thomson’s red car in the final and how they handled it all. No issue, they were a team, one for all , no blame etc.

Still don’t understand why some rugby men cannot enjoy women’s rugby…..

I watched an interview with Marlie 36 last week, as long as she is match fit she said she will carry on playing for as long as they need her so I disagree.

As she is a West Country maid I'll be rooting for her to continue playing as like Meg she is relentless with so much talent.

Strange the attitude some men have isn't it - I suspect they might be keener were the men's team achieving

Martin Johnson is a great supporter of the women's game - as you know he has a place backing on to ours and is happy to chat on the odd occasion we meet when he is out walking the dog.

As Ruby Tui put it post match "England have come here today in France and blown them out of the water"..

PS The Renault marking on the French arses cost them dearly with breakdowns in the scrum.
