I heard today that Morgan are going to produce a a limited to 75 cars, a 75th Anniversary Plus Four, for £75k all automatics with £5 k worth of upgrades over the standard model.


I think I'm really restricted to a Plus 6 , as the Plus 4 is just too tight for my 6' 2'' and wide frame. I've seen one I really like but at £95k, there are an awful lot of other cars available at that price point and hopefully and maybe a nicely spec'd Pinnacle version may come available at some point in the near future.

Sue naturally wants to be able to drive all our cars, so power steering and auto becomes mandatory as she hasn't been able to drive the last 3 Morgans we've had as the steering and clutch etc was just too heavy compared with our 70's and 80's Morgans. Sue as much as she loves Morgans is naturally questioning what else can we get for that kind of money and talking about getting an SL instead of her SLK but I'd prefer a AMG GT convertible or S convertible.with plenty of muscle to meet any perceived need.

These Morgans really get under your skin, maybe I should just buy a trad and accept the inevitable and basically leave it in the garage and polish it to death, just to simply satisfy that ownership need, so I don't feel there is anything missing in my life. I kept my Harleys for years after giving up riding them, I only gradually let them go one at a time when the coastal environment and lack of use started to accelerate their demise and the time felt right. Its a strange old world when you want something that really you cant use. LOL!


A Bullittt Mustang maybe a little too raw for my very anglophile tastes with a very Germanic twist. The search continues..............I hope the Supersport is a success for Morgan, but sitting there looking down that long bonnet with no rows of louvres to guide your way, just didn't feel quite right and I could have been in anything.

John, ideally you need a dealer with a manual & auto Plus Four to test back to back, I did this a few years ago and (surprisingly) fell for the auto - although they were top down drives so I didn't really check the hood frame intrusion

Anyway, I loved the Roadster too much to swop back then, but if the clutch foot neuromas and dodgy knees get worse...

A bargain, sub £30k sigma 4/4 for the occasional sunny day blast....
Light clutch and steering, depreciation proof and the Morgan itch is scratched.🤷🏻‍♂️

AND.....it frees up a big chunk of money to put in to another 'toy'......!!!!

The Plus Four hood frame intrusion is when the hood is down, the lowered hood frame juts quite far forward at the top of the seat, (much further than a trad hood frame) so the frame is rubbing against my shoulder all the time when the hood is down. If there is one thing Morgan should change and that is the width of the Plus Four tub,maybe adopt the Plus 6 or Supersport tub, which would rationalise production even further. I dread to think how wide Americans are finding the Plus Four for cabin space.

I tried a 2018 Roadster the other week, and it was a nice car but I found that arch of carpet from the right hand side of the footwell too intrusive for comfort. Nice car and a great finish to them, Morgans at their best IMHO.

Yep, I'm working my way around to that type of thinking. I've been on a bit of a journey to lose weight, strengthen my core, regularly walking and playing badminton and tennis each week,The badminton and tennis are strengthening my right arm that I badly fractured last year, Building it up slowly and with changes in diet I'm seeing the benefits, eg I was in and out of the Morgans with the hoods up at Oakmere with relative ease yesterday, compared to 6 months ago.

There certainly is an Morgan itch to be scratched, and I did want a Morgan I could drive daily all year round, but that may not be possible, I might just settle for sunny day occasional use .......time will tell.. Must admit coming back from the Morgan dealership on the M6 in my Merc .in heavy traffic kept speeds down to 60 to 65mph with the occasional stretch at 70. It was great being able to listen to the Sennheiser audio, with the heated seats melting away the aches from that mornings badminton session, in pretty near absolute mechanical silence. When I checked the mpg stats it achieved 57.6 mpg for the near 120 mile round trip journey........can't really complain too much.

Pilates...... find a really good pilates teacher, not a mat class, a studio with reformers, trap beds etc etc........ (my wife has taught pilates for 30 years).....
Strength and flexibility are the vital at any age but in later life they can be the life changing....🤷🏻‍♂️
Some of my wife's regulars are well in their 80's.... male and female😁

Even a trad can be an all year round daily car........ I can't imagine the CX's leak any less than a trad.......😂, you'd just be more annoyed having spent double or triple the amount of money for it....🤷🏻‍♂️😆

I enjoyed driving my Kent engined 4/4 all year round, for 3 years it was my daily driver, being a four seater made it more practical for everyday use. The depth of winter with snow on the ground were more challenging days, as the wind and rain whistled everywhere thru it.......I can't remember whether it had a heater or not, as I never seemed to feel any benefit from it. Those were the days.

If a Morgan really isn't the right car for you, how about a Jaguar XK8 convertible in top condition?

Large, British, tasteful, powerful, comfortable, open-top.
