having a real problem, speedometer started jumping around showing 100 mph and back to 30 and would not stop.
having replaced it when i bought the 63 plus 4 DHC last year it worked as it should for 3oo miles.
I took it out and looked at it, but showed no problems so i went about reinstalling, but it would not fit back into the gear box... ordered a new cable and it too would bot fit into the transmission.... why? i have some old cables that came with the car, and it slid in without and problem. the other end is buggered so I was just making sure it would fit. still the old and the new cable will not fit. am i missing something, does the car have to be in gear ?
I bought a endiscope and can see into the hole and there is nothing in the way.. any ideas/ im in front royal va

Try turning (or getting someone else to turn) the other end of the inner as you offer it into the gearbox end.

Also a gentle tap on the open end often seats it. Have you checked the drive end dimensions of the one that will not fit against one that will, also check the corners some need to be rounded off as a sharp corner won't let it go in!

Speedometer?

That's the thing on the passenger side that is in front of Mrs Tykester on my Roadster right?

The thing she keeps saying is telling her I'm going too fast?

I would leave the thing disconnected if I were you!
