yep, had this too, stuck in sport+ (manual) .. i'm permanently in that mode (so wasn't too upset). it was a warranty job. new switch.

Mine was stuck in sports plus today driving around Sufolk & Essex . Great fun.

I drove to MMC this morning to drop the Plus Four off for a warranty job. Auto in normal mode but nudged into Sport for junctions/roundabouts/overtaking to get better flow. Worked a treat. Occasional hint of a pop too. Didn't try Sport+ though. I was not in hooligan mode!
Train home and back up Friday to collect the car. Bubbling paint on the windscreen pillar plus a wheel alignment check after tracking out whilst up on the Hebrides. Checked and reset but getting MMC to go over it while the car is there.

Is your car still in warranty with the windscreen painting or is it being done outside of the warranty period at no cost to yourself? The windscreen paint bubbling does seem to be a quite common problem even on trads. You would have thought they would have sorted that process out by now.

I had this problem with my Trad, I had it repaired/painted body colour by MR expensive but 6 years later still perfect. MR said MMC hadn't prepared the metal work properly.

The paint bubbling is being repaired under warranty. The car was taken to the factory yesterday and will be sorted in-house by the paint department. The pillars will be totally stripped back before re-painting. Car will be picked up on Friday.

The work was being scheduled in with normal production. It was to be a second job alongside a sidescreen replacement. I needed the sidescreen sorted before a planned trip to the Hebrides and that was brought forward to fit in with the deadline for my trip. The paint repair was arranged for after the trip hence the car back in now. The sidescreen frame had cracked at a weld so causing problems with fit to the hood. Not good if on a long trip! The factory staff were excellent in fitting that job in pre the trip.
This week they are checking the tracking as well. Noticed in Scotland and a local garage reset it. I asked for the factory check whilst they had the car and we chatted about it. They were surprised at the misalignment after only 18k miles in just over 2 years so will do full checks. Slight wear on the inner edge only. Still legal so driveable within limits.

Just to add, tyre wear has been low over the 18k miles Even and plenty of tread left. Steering feel still good despite the mis alignment.

Respect... I have to change the rear tires after 40,000 km (25,000 miles). They're just slicks now, and I should go to the German TÜV.
