Very clever.
When I did mine a few years ago I went the other way. I attached the front first. I put a long board under the car and put a strap around the end and around the spring. I then sat on the board which pulled the spring down into place. By varying my weight on the board, I could get the holes to line up.

Clever solution, but I'd cable tie the timber spreader to the rafters, just in case summat lets go
