1. I enjoy pretty, characterful cars, especially the '50s to '60s era.
2. After more than a decade of perseverance, I got fed up with spending more time on my back on a concrete garage floor, or some other neck wrenching contortion, fixing rather than driving my TR3A.
3. My wife was reluctant to go any distance in the Triumph, worried about it being so old.
4. My father in law and father have recently developed health issues. I'm thinking 'that's me in 20 or so years'.
Where do you find a reliable 'classic' car, with a warranty and dealer network....
I always admired a low and sleek P8, then the Roadster V6. I missed the boat on those, but thought I'd order a P6. Then found they'd just been discontinued. I spent a few weeks looking for an in-warranty, nearly new P6 in a spec that appealed and found mine.
I went for the six in part for the wide sleekness, but also because I didn't want to regret not getting the bigger engine. Now I've driven the six, I realise the P4 would also have had more than enough power.
Now I'm having fun getting to know and driving my Morgan. I'm looking forward to warmer weather with some overnight trips, hopefully with my wife!
