At the start there was no plan to have a Concours. Now there is. But I won't be paying the price for the event, because we don't really enjoy that sort of structure and itinerary. So I won't be attending as a Concours Judge. I've conveyed that to the Concours Sec, and he is aware that no day tickets will deter judges, and also deter some entrants. The Club committee are aware, so lets see where it goes, but without a day ticket, the Concours will be diminished.

Apparently nearly half of the packages sold so far have gone to overseas members, those from the USA, Australia and NZ will be without Morgan's and probably expecting to see hundreds if not thousands of Morgan's at the event, aren't they going to be disappointed!

It's not clear where it all takes place yet, between the three counties showground, the factory, and Malvern College, but all I can say is it will not be 20% of what took place at the Cheltenham Centenery event.

As a Club Celebration, I would have preferred it to be inclusive to all members, and clearly, even the minimum two night cost will deter a lot of members. It's not the way I would have done it but there you go.

At the current rate they'll be able to hold it in a lay-by somewhere.................................!

The committee don't seem to be listening to club members which seems.........odd......🤷🏻‍♂️

What's the point in being in a club if the club is making it very difficult to attend club events.....🤷🏻‍♂️

I certainly wouldn't go for the whole event and I wouldn't want to stay in the event hotels.
I would definitely go for one or possibly two days and find my own accommodation even though it's not that far from me.
Which is the way I've attended many of the Mog events over the years....

Not into any Club things but this is very sad to limit those wanting to attend that do enjoy community stuff.

Dave W and his concourse judging (who has a dislike of crowds anyway) has been a very long road of hard earned experience and respect and when they piss people like him off they have an own goal. They are displaying traits of the Royal Family and the BBC in not giving a stuff for others opinions, so lets see the impact on membership next year.

You only kill enthusiasm once imho..

Club events should be for all members not just the wealthy few. This will be my last years membership, no more calendars after this year just an uninteresting magazine.

Yeah, mine has now lapsed. I'd probably have popped in to the 75th - combined it with a visit to see the folks but I'm sure I won't be missed smile smile

The current Chairperson went to Salon Prive at Blenheim, and was apparently influenced by the high rollers with blazers and boaters and champagne flowing. That's fair enough, because what goes on there is jaw dropping, but thinking that this can ever be morphed into a Mog Event is dreamworld. It seems that the Club are following the MMC dream of the wealth washing over the CX cars, but that will never translate into a Mog event because this is chalk and cheese when compared to Salon Prive.

It would have made more sense to have a long weekend all-comers invitation at the factory, with the Club attendees parked on the field behind with a few refreshments. A gala Dinner is fine for those who want that, as a stand alone.

Scenic Tours could also be available as a stand alone.

Sometimes simple is better.

Mine hasn't so much lapsed as I wrote declining to renew. Badge removed from the badge bar, and mags and calendar out with the recycling.

This needs to go to the committee and the whole elitist mentality needs to stop.
Perhaps the chair or someone from the top table monitors TM and would like to make a comment.

Do people really want gala dinners nowadays......... it's not the masons or the golf club.....😁

If people on TM, a Morgan forum, don't want to be part of the Morgan sports car club....... that speaks volumes......🤷🏻‍♂️
