I think the best way to describe my wife's reaction to my decision to acquire a (very) strange car was "bemused". Supportive, yes, but supportive in the same way you might be if your spouse took a sudden interest in, say, amassing a large collection of K-Pop paraphernalia or turning the living room into a disco-themed hookah salon. Since then she has evinced a degree of stoic good-naturedness, duly praising me when I brag about about changing the battery or fixing a stuck door handle, going on the occasional drive, and even gamely taking the wheel once or twice (although when I showed her an advert for a weekend get-together of my local Morgan club her response was "That looks great. YOU should definitely do that"). And that got me to wondering -- if you have had a significant other during the course of your Morgan ownership, what does she (or he - surely there are some female members of this forum, or gents of another persuasion) really think about the car? Is it an equally shared enthusiasm? Or is it "enthusiasm by proxy" (liking it because you like it), or mere tolerance? Or (heaven forbid, but it's not beyond the realm of reason) outright disdain?

My wife enjoyed trips out in the Morgans over the years, even an occasional week long holiday trip. No way she would get involved with group trips though.

Mrs Image is on the enthusiastic end of the spectrum ... happy to go out in it, happy to drive it .....happy to do a 2 week 1500 mile road trip down to Goodwood and back via the factory ... with camping involved, in a mix of nice and biblically awful weather .... helps that she's been a biker all her grown-up life and that we had a Series 2 soft-top Landy as our daily driver for years in the NE of Scotland.
Guess it depends on expectations and comfort-thresholds a fair bit. 🙂

My wife is more than happy for me to play and tour alone, she has driven them all but remains unimpressed but very supportive.
It was her that suggested I got a plus Six bless her, not for me I’m too traditional although if the knees finally let go an auto Plus Four will be found.

I'm very fortunate to have a very supportive, caring wife with a very common outlook on life, who understands and involves herself in all our pursuits and hobbies from the early days of motorcycling to Morganeering in all its forms from days trips to continental tours. I'm sure over the years I have been influential in some of the paths we have taken, but often a case of sharing such opportunities equally and jointly.
We both enjoy all year round open air motoring and all that entails and embraces...........all our Morgans and Harleys have been acquired as a joint decision.

If Mrs F hadn’t signed up to the idea of riding around in a Morgan then we wouldn’t have one.
It helps that the club is very social and that every DonMog event we go along to is very inclusive.
She drives the car - most often on the DonMog Grass Autotest (she won the ladies trophy this year).
And when age finally takes it toll and we decide to sell the Morgan, it will be a joint decision.

Setting the primary question to one side, I'd like to ask what is wrong with either of the above, and why it would have to be the "spouse" who did one or the other (or both!)...

My wife loves our Morgans and more importantly the holidays we had and have with them. She also likes the contacts we made with other MSSCH members and the short holidays we make with them in our Morgans. The PlusFour was my idea, but she was the one who insisted that we kept the 4/4 with us, in the family. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/11/16/5588e162-0578-4733-abf0-7698f1b0c084.jpeg)

Hahaha well I confess this may have been a case of me subconsciously anticipating Mrs. A's likely reaction if I attempted either of the foregoing!
