Hello, I am trying to get the suspension on my 2014 plus 4 better. I fitted SSL suspension all round 5years ago, but feel that with the awful roads we now have to endure, that the rear suspension could be better, although difficult with the limited travel. So I been thinking about fitting air spring units to replace the coil overs presently fitted. So the question is ,has anyone out there fitted or thinking about fitting air springs to the rear of their 2 seater if so what are your conclusions, duncan

If you replace the coil over units with air springs, you will need to reengineer the suspension in order to mount shock absorbers.

I had S & W air shocks fitted to a touring Moto Guzzi back in the late 70's. I couldn't believe how well they coped with over 200Kg of rider, pillion and luggage on a tour of Europe. You just pumped them up to recover ride height and they never bottomed out as the medium provides a natural rising rate. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/6RxwBGJs/s-l1600-1679344631835.jpg)

If you replace the coil over units with air springs, you will need to reengineer the suspension in order to mount shock absorbers. Unless you can obtain suitable air shocks in the style of above motorcycle ones.

My ten penneth, for what it's worth...................
A trad Morgan is what it is............🤷🏻♂️
I can fully appreciate the desire of owners to improve or develop the suspension of their cars, but ultimately, they're flogging a dead horse..............
It's a 100 year old design, ladder frame chassis, cart springs, and sliding pillar throwback to bygone days of motoring........... AND..... it is unique...................its raison d' etre, its usp..... the thing that makes it a Morgan....... a trad....................is.......... it is rubbish.......when compared to anything modern, and by modern I mean after the early 60's....😁
Enjoy and embrace the creaking and the rattling, the squeeks and the bumps........... Cover it all in ACF50, grease it and enjoy it........😆😆😆

Spot on Julian, Exactly as you described and for those who want something better.......... MX5, It'll drive like a dream, you won't have to work on it and for £15,000 you can have a nearly new example!
