Yes George I have a shot of it *BDA) somewhere. I'll put up when I get back from the vets.

WHAT... No doctors way out in your part of the sticks Richard...???

Yeah I think I posted a pic of JHSII`s BDA Mog on here a while back, I think I had one of his truck too, I suspect Lorne too has a few of JHSII`s images, one I remember was of of John`s carpeted garage which at the time created a wry smile, given the oil stained and abused state of my garage floor... (-: I also remember JHS posting a pic on eMog of his somewhat close fly-by of an aircraft carrier, taken his jet jockey days. JHSII like other North American Morganeers were characters for sure, their tales and efforts are not easily forgotten in whatever diminishing grey matter I have left. Happy days. (-:

Every time George they know they have to get it right first time otherwise the bill won't get paid or they get a 12guage persuader.

I have spent my whole life in the country farmer and the farmers I have seen using blue pray on their children and themselves I couldn't count.

I worked with them throughout FMD in Exeter and there were some outstandingly good characters as well as the arrogant knobs.

In the wash up post enquiry for our area the analysis indicated that had it not been for the A38 effectively acting as a fire brake for the transmission of the disease it would have been catastrophic..

It was such a miserable time for the farming community.

The BDA was a wonderful engine. I remember being let out for a test drive in the early 70's in a spanking new Escort RS1600. With only 74 miles on the clock I was inititally driven by the Crystal of Hull Ford main dealers salesman. He doubled as their sponsored rally driver and it showed as we cornered at 80+ mph down narrow back roads. Superbly flexible engine. I remember a little later being dissapointed that the RS2000 follow up car used a run of the mill single cam Pinto engine with less power. What a shame this engine was never used by MMC in a production model. Guess they were busy at that time with the introduction of Plus 8 though.

+8Rich, I live but a field away from suburbia, along a self maintained lane on what once was a dept of ag& fish pig farm, where the sitting tenant bought it and gave up on the amount of effort required to make a living and I was able then to buy it.... jeez that was way back in the mid to late seventies, spent the majority of my adult life trying to improve it... Duh..! There were a couple of other pic farms along the lane, that in time gave up, one down to the natural ageing processes and the other when foot&mouth hit... I well remember cutting out my usual Morgan runs in the local countryside hoping to restrict the chances of picking anything up and spreading it... As well as using welly baths when visiting my neighbour, so yes quite well up on the ways and responsibilities of countryside living, regularly picking up litter on my morning walk up to what was one of the local lairds big hoose, the litter left by dog walkers and the likes .... Pity they seem to have so little respect but at least it provides me with bending and stretching exercises to lift the stuff up.... OK,OK, parking the grumpy old man stuff.... for a while at least... (-:

RichardV6, when I was first trying to decide upon "Which Morgan" in the mid 90`s had a 4/4 with even the forerunner of the BDA in the form of the Lotus Twink, then that would have matched my ideals at the time, despite their propensity to have water pump issues and sweat a bit of oil, as they did in the old 60`s Elans I had run in times past, the intake roar of those four Weber`s was addictive as was the light weight of the Elans and with discs all round... Wonderful.. (-:
The RS 2000 was not a patch on the BDA or BDB. I had the good fortune to be carrying out work for the local ford dealership at the time they had decided to attempt to set up a a specific sports department, to market all the ford related goodies, they had bought in an ex-Broadspeed escort racer, Jeez what a bit of kit that was complete with all the spares to go racing... I spent an inordinate amount of time in that part of the workshops drooling over that wonderfully curvy wheel arched machine, perhaps the equivalent of automotive porn for the youngster I was at that time... Thanks for the feedback George. Yes owned an Elan SE for a short while also in the early 70's. A promising car that needed a fair bit of work. Unfortunately its affinity to lamposts aided by my youthful driving never allowed long enough ownership to sort the car. Guess self preservation instincts hadn't had time to kick in innocent
