I had many an interesting bike in my youth, but old age, hopefully now with hindsight and greater wisdom and increasingly aching bones, wouldn't see me repeating the opportunity again.......A sportster.stripped down to the bare essentials, so much lighter will help as they are a far old solid dead weight to chuck about. The solid engine mounting sends vibrations thru the handlebars which shake the hands and fingers numb after a while,. Great fun in small doses
I found putting lead weights in the handlebar ends helps balance out some of the worst of the vibes.

Although my funsponge Mrs has banned any future purchases until they're all cleared...... Funsponge - that made me laugh. Completing the thread link I did exactly the same when I got my first Plus 8 from Helen in 1994 - she assimilates quickly mind that cost me a new kitchen and both bathrooms renewal Some of us fall in Love easier than others my name is Rich and I'm a car tart. My name is Rich and I am a (multi) car tart (said the multicar tart)
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I test drove an S2 at RTCC in late 2015, it drove well but had a bit too much body corrosion around the wing beading. They also fixed a starting problem with my Aero that manifested itself the first time I tried to drive it after getting it home!! Sorry to hear of their troubles and particularly for those caught up in the fall out too.
I hope the bruising settles quickly Richard, like you my purchase cost me an extension, a kitchen and I seem to recall a diamond ring. Which when I come to tot it all up means I should have a couple of other toys as well!

Thank you David, I am rather hoping that the good news today that the boys will be fitting our Grant boiler Thursday will lessen the blows a little but like the weather there is never any way of reading outcomes as I am thinking you know all too well. Taking my glasses off now.. Yes time for another one car that is for you.. Yours

Thanks for input regarding RTCC situation, but I think the thread has drifted a little.
If any one is owed money by RTCC could they please let me know via this forum or a PM.
Many thanks.

Not much use now Les, but having worked in construction and seen the big cashflow issues it was quite common for some burly subbie to be sat in reception on a friday afternoon refusing to budge until accounts brought his cheque down, sometimes for several £100,000's that we were sat on delaying payment

In the UK Porsche market here is a bit of a tale of quite a few folk sustaining losses relative to Sale or Return contracts (SOR) at one particular dealership which seems to have gone rogue. The scale of it seems quite amazing, and the likely outcome for all those involved seems rather bleak, as the only folk who seem likely to profit may be the legal and financial teams involved in the processes. There were a lot of in`s and out`s, twists and turns discussed, and it springs to mind that at least one chap had insured himself against any issues arising relative to the SOR contract...?
It seems SOR issues are none too uncommon, perhaps best to read and understand whatever contract you sign on to CAREFULLY...? Although I was promised a Sales/Commission Agreement via email, and despite regular requests, I never received one. The best I got was an email stating - ' We will do our best to achieve the full asking price for your car but should we receive an offer below the asking price from potential buyer this offer will be submitted to you for your consideration and approval before a sale is agreed. We will review the pricing and marketing every 6 weeks if not sold. Title to the car remains with you until the balance is settled in full. Your car is fully and comprehensively insured with us whilst it is for sale and for test drives so you can cancel your own insurance if you wish.If interested in the SOR issues I refer to, you could perhaps try a search Specialist cars of Malton, Gmund cars, Andrew Mearns...All related. https://www.northyorkshire.police.u...ar-dealer-jailed-for-fraudulent-trading/

NEVER trust anybody where money is involved. I used to run a charity and bought several Sprinter minibuses over the years from the same company in South Yorkshire. The owner became a "friend" coming down to events I put on, buying flowers for my wife and taking us out for dinner etc. The last bus I ordered he unusually asked for a 10% deposit £3,400 which I sent, two weeks later he left his wife and went off to Spain with his secretary never to be seen again nor was my money.
