No drilling. They just have suction cups that have a lever to attach them to the surface. I gave the metal an alcohol wipe first to make sure it was clean.

Here is my solution. I am a big fan of SP Connect. Use the system on my motorcycles. The system needs a special shell for the phone. Might as well toss this in. Not for a CX but might fit the same and would equally work with a telephone. It uses a printed clip that fits snugly around the top dash profile with a little turned brass adapter that fits a 17mm ball thingy I found on ebay.
