Would be an awesome car for that price.

My main concern would be that the "chassis" may have suffered distortion which could result in misalignment of the suspension/running gear. Possibly this could be checked on a specialist jig.

The quality of repairs doesn't exactly fill me with confidence either.

Agreed, class 'S' is officially structural damage, and it will have been inspected by an insurance assessor to be given that tag and hence written off by the insurer

Here it is (click on "see original listing") https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/336074929123

I know who has bought this car, for under £50k cool Not every ones cup of tea colour wise, but might as well stick out from the crowd!

I quite like the colour, I had a Jensen Healey in a similar colour, late 70’s, early 80’s.

Iris Blue was a standard BMC colour. Looked good on Frogeye Sprites and Minivans.

Back on ebay again, I think at a lower asking price: Plus Six cat S

But even though I prefer this P6 colour scheme I would prefer a cat N P4 to a cat S P6: Plus Four cat N

The P6 description mentions repairs with 'added aluminium sheeting'...sounds very dodgy on a bonded OE chassis

Hi all,

A bit of an update on my search for a Plus Six and getting back into a Morgan. In a nutshell it has NOT happened!

I tested 3 Morgan Plus Six's in Sept and Oct time last year and two things really got me to where I am now.
1. I loved the BMW engine (and gearbox TBH) - it is smooth, very powerful, docile but has genuine character (you can actually smell it getting hot via the bonnet vents when driving!)
2. The build quality of the Morgan product was pretty poor. Chroming on mirror's pitted and needing repalcing, hood studs broken and interior mirror that was useless, windscreen frames that had paint bubbling and the body's of two of the Six's had flaky paint from alu corrosion. One Plus Six also had a rad leak (on its 4th replacement but booked into Morgan) and two had very squeaky brakes and suspension creaks.

At every potential sale, two private and one a Dealer the response to concerns I had was "it is a Morgan/low volume car manufacturer, what do you expect?". Therefore, could I justify spending £55k plus and be content with 'poor quality' and the answer was NO.

OK the mirrors and windscreen frame could quite easily be sorted but the bubbles on the bodywork, would have been expensive to sort and these were low mileage cars.

So to come clean what did I buy?

I purchased a new model BMW Z4 same 3 ltr turbo engine as the Plus Six and with under 11k miles was also half the price (secondhand) of one of Morgan's I tried. The BMW product and experience so far, so good.

Therefore, after my 3.0 Roadster experience a few years ago, I cannot see me re-joining the Morgan ranks...shame really, I so wanted to like it?

Honesty means doing it right, even when no one is looking!

2004 Roadster S1 3.0 V6 gone!
