The most appropriate watch to wear in my 4/4 Sport, from my modest but rare watch collection would be my 1969 Heuer Autavia Panda. Of course I could go for my 5513 Submariner from 1966, but I generally wear my 1972 Datejust, which has been my daily for the last 30 years or so. Whatever your choice it should be a vintage watch for a Morgan jaunt.

Some show off watches in this thread…….. Got a gold Accurist watch for my 18th, now a bit damaged like the owner. Bought a Tag in 1983 and worn everyday. Funnily enough in Madrid this weekend food tasting for our sons wedding someone said what a nice old watch? A battery change and vacuum seal costs 5 to 10 euros in Slovenia and had it serviced at 25 one year.. Compare that to the UK My fav but could not be worn in the Morgan as rain, moisture etc would bug**r it , a gold Bueche Girod Roy King from 1987.
Why I like this thread is I am keen to buy another watch. Cheap Breitling or Tag as watch wearing in London is a risk. Two neighbours attacked for their Rolexes, one with a machete! So alternative is TBMs that does so much more than tell the time….Nice feature if it also stops at the exact time you croak !?
My wife has had a Jaeger LeCoultre I got cheaply in an auction and the odd other watch over our many years and they all stop working on her. It’s a real plus bonus . She never wanted an engagement ring, doesn’t like jewellery much and doesn’t like shopping !! How lucky am I. But she is 70 in a few weeks and I have no idea what to buy her. Ideas most welcome but I promised her a potters wheel and Kiln for her 60th and we have nowhere to put them, so it’s still an IOU until we move ! Best to all, MM

Never worn wristwatches, can't get on with them (though I do have a military pilot's watch that now lives in my bedside drawer as I no longer fly ... but which Bonesie of this parish alerted me was worth a silly amount of money) ... for the Morgan I have a GSPT pocket watch ... standard Army issue for WW2 ... carried by Mrs Image's Dad and purchased by him when he was de-mobbed (or possibly just 'forgot' to hand it back! 🙂) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2026/02/02/Screenshot_20260202_175729_Gallery.jpg) K Ps ... sorry, only pic of it I have was just after the dash went back in during the resto ... hence the half-completed loom

Why I like this thread is I am keen to buy another watch. Mike, if you'd like something interesting but not obvious, in terms of possible theft target, here are a few companies worth looking at: Bradley (of Autodromo) makes some interesting, classic car inspired, watches: https://autodromo.com - I own a 'Group-B series 1' - the downside is they are small volume runs and they tend to sell out quite quickly. You can see his previous watches here: https://autodromo.com/pages/watch-archiveSinn have an interesting history and make some attractive, well built, quality watches at a reasonable price point: https://www.sinn.de/en/And, our very own Bonesie makes some small batch interesting time pieces, usually with military inspiration. His watch brand is called 6B Watches and he is also known, in the watch world, for making some brilliant quality straps.

All the brands you mention are good also consider Longine or Cartier, both do non mechanical movements ( and therefore not so expensive to service) with some really nice Ladies pieces.
Yes, living in London does mean it's better to remain under the radar, I never wear a watch when in London.

I just don't have the watch gene. I use my phone and before phones had a small plastic digital clock in my pocket.
