North Weald Airshow late 90s, I open the hangar door and the Harrier taxis in. I am standing next to a delightful young lady, model type, as the pilot takes off his helmet and climbs out of the cockpit, no ladder available so in dashing manner slides down the sloping wing, saunters over to his young lady and puts his arm around her. Off they go probably to their hotel and as they walk away i see the pilots flight suit is covered on the left hand side, top to bottom in thick black soot, love to know how that turned out.
