It is great to read people's views rather than chunks of AI..which is rather spoiling interaction in my opinion.

Agreed! It's bad enough having to deal with it in school, so like to escape from it at home smile

Couldn't agree more, there's nothing worse than being confronted with screeds of obviously AI generated blurb which may or may not be accurate. It makes me automatically discount the poster's input, as it's basically saying "I haven't got a clue, but here's what shitloads of data scraping comes up with".

Just another example of the enshittification of t'internet.

A.I. Isn’t very sophisticated though, it couldn’t replicate our “handbags at dawn” discussions about Allen keys, I think it would have unplugged itself in despair on page one. Be assured, there’s nothing artificial about the unintelligent rubbish I post on here.

It is a big worry for me. AI constantly relies and refers to GoMoG, most often making a bizarre hash of its instructions.

The sad effect of A.I. Is the how casually people invest their faith in it, probably out of laziness. Instant answers, instant gratification, shortcuts to all the best of life renders all the best of life worthless and futile, to the point organic existence itself will be pointless.
Ding dongs about Allen keys stimulates critical thinking and forms independent minds, together we’re saving mankind from itself, even if we’re both wrong!

the sun’s up so I’m off out to do some living and less thinking😃

But it says so on the internet.
It must be right.

This really annoys me. There is so much utter bovine excrement spouted and then repeated as actual facts. There's a lot of this going on at the moment. Finding reliable sources of information is becoming less easy.
I subscribe to some you tube channels, only subscribed after reviewing the content and deciding how genuine it is.

I have a science background so I tend to look at things on that basis. Does it match up with science facts?
DIY....car maintenance.....sport.....anything else.....
If someone shows a video on how to do something AND that passes my " is it logical, verifyable, sensible, from someone who appears to know his stuff".
Personal experience....my dad was a coachbuilder, damn good one. He showed/taught me things that I do now. Maybe not all to his standard but form a basis to apply to tasks. Can I do it well enough. Yes...crack on. No....get a pro to do it.
So...Allen key v Torx? Preferred is correct matching tool. If none available then "tricks of the trade" and wisdom passed on come into play. I have a box of tools that are only used when my regular tools can't do the job. A bolt in an awkward place? Hmmmm if I bend the shank of that old spanner that's the correct size then it will work. Avoid damage but if inevitable replace with new. Hence my replacement of rear seat runner bolts to socket heads after jamming the inaccessible hex head bolt to get it out. Luckily my small Stilson was perfect for this so no screwdriver needed. Why and how did MMC decide on this hex head in the first place? GRRRR
