Still plenty of trad left on it, not sure if the pair require to be replaced due to all the on board digital driver aids... Always change tyres in pairs.

Sorry Bob, I learned to ride m/cycles with oil soaked rear tyres if there was any oil in the forks it did not stay in there long enough to matter, a bulb horn as the battery/charging system was likely to have it`s own share of issues.... Once I got onto four wheels any tread was considered a bonus mixing radials with crossply across the same axle only required a different cornering technique from LH to RH bends. As I have previously typed, my old Jensen ran on crossplys that were "vintage."
As for the why`s and wherefores of fitting tyres on pairs, yeah well I can go with that to some degree on a circa 400HP car that flat out might see 200MPH, but not while I`m driving it.. (-: I remember discussion on TPMS requiring tyres across the same axle to have similar rolling radius as measured by pulses from the reluctor ring. However I think on some cars the tec has moved on a tad to the actual pressure in the tyre being measured at the sensor in each wheel and from there via blue tooth to the onboard management system... Another however...(-: ? With actual pressure being measured, perhaps the differences in the rolling radius across an axle for TPMS may not be applicable....? Yet another however, I suspect ABS may still be inclined to use reluctor ring data, as may PDH systems on some cars... Sigh..!
Of course ask any tyre retailer or garage and they seem bound to stick to the script of replacing in pairs....?
To continue this ramble somewhat.... (-: My retired sister was being given a lift by her daughter, who usually makes use of her husbands Tesla the majority of the time given it`s convenience factor, so much so that it seems she had lost aspects of memory of the way her older manual Cleo or some such required to be driven and struggled with handbrake, dipping headlights and other aspects of basic control... Which came as no surprise to me as when I first drove the tesla I was equally lost. It took quite some time to settle into the thing, but I did wonder quite how anyone who passed their test in a Tesla might fare if ever put in a car without all the convenient digitally controlled aspects... Perhaps as in times past, those who used an automatic to pass their test were restricted to only ever driving automatics...
Rant over... (-:

Just had a very pleasant conversation with Jeremy at G&W. They can't get near the Admiral price, but they are significantly cheaper than PJ.
Jeremy did raise some interesting points, which may have been mentioned previously in the PJ column in Miscellany, worth noting again:
- windscreen cover, would the Admiral policy cover the full cost of a Morgan heated windscreen (I doubt it, but I've got a spare so not overly concerned). - salvage / repair, would Admiral want to use their preferred garage? - parking with hood down, does the Admiral policy cover theft of the car in this situation?
And I mentioned my experience of trying to get cover for the parade lap at Silverstone last year, Admiral don't cover that and the quotes I got were over £1,000 for the day with a £5,000 excess. The G&W policy covers track days, albeit the excess is 10% of the cost of any repairs.
Maybe at some stage I will go with G&W. Certainly I have a 'warm and fuzzy' feeling toward them after that one relatively brief discussion. I was with Admiral when I got T boned by a drunk Admiral agreed to Melvyn doing the repairs 24k no problem and although it took 3 years for them to get my £750 excess back because the other ins co went bust they didn't give up.

Admiral for me, insurance dropped £100 this year to £430 for Multicar - XK8 and Mog Roadster.
I did wonder how agreed value was weighing up these days, depreciation being worse than it has been over previous years, anyone had experience on claims? I once lost a lotus (destroyed by a drunk driver) that i never got the agreed value on so i've never gone down that path again.

I suspect it's difficult to get agreed value with the likes of Admiral, Aviva and the usual mainstream insurers (which puts me off)
Has anyone managed this ?

Has anyone managed this ? I guess it depends on the legal definition of agreed value, Admiral suggested an insured value to me, which was slightly above my own estimate, so I was happy to accede to their suggested value. To me that’s an agreement.

To me that’s an agreement. That's basically a book/estimated value at the time of the insurance quote, which I think you will find will vary inline with the car's depreciation over time. When it comes to cars being valued for write-off, all sorts of things are taken into account eg mileage, condition and age of tyres which will effect it's worth. I have had a an appreciating value car stolen whilst in storage on a storage policy and in fairness the mainstream insurers did a market value search and agreed a value which was well in excess of what I paid for the car....but that may be not be the case with everyday RTA insurance. If there is only a small difference in premiums between a main stream insurer and a specialist agreed value policy, then the agreed value would be logical. However, if there is a massive difference in premiums and you can live with the risk eg windscreen coverage ( I have only ever replaced one in over 50 years of driving and that was on my Porsche Turbo) then it maybe a risk you are prepared to accept. For me the real issue is availability of Morgan parts eg heated windscreens, and where I would have to arrange to get it fixed and getting the car there and likely off road time whist waiting and how all of that is covered.....if at all by the insurance.
