On the Top Gear review - did anyone notice Hammonds comment that there are holes in the footwell and he had cold air/ rain going up his trouser leg? Is that true? I suspect that was a development model. I saw the same on the 3W bought to the Prescott +4 day and it was in the same colour scheme but not on the BHM demonstrator at the London to Brighton Vintage car run.

Thanks for posting that link, enjoyed it enormously. I must admit that they had me laughing like a drain at some points.

I am pretty certain that Top Gear have a development car...they've had it some time.
I'm never too sure about just how fast Clarkson and his crew actually drive...there's an awful lot of clever camera work and editing. A bit like Stig's lap in the M3W....it's all done for maximum entertainment value, if he had been a lot smoother it may well have been a faster lap. He must have done quite a few laps to get use to the car and they just picked the most lairy of them.

yes, I am sure they had a lap where the Stig didnt finish backwards, but that wouldnt have made for as good of TV. The Lap time being so low I am sure isnt going to dissuade those from buying.

Yes I watched it with my daughter , kind of reminded me of the lad the other week who said a draught was blowing from his door speaker . My daughter 20 would like to try out the 3W but has the hots for an old Land Rover , dont know how she got into that . On the Top Gear review - did anyone notice Hammonds comment that there are holes in the footwell and he had cold air/ rain going up his trouser leg? Is that true?

the develoment car they used on top gear basically doesnt have a completed bulkhead where the pedals sit. hence the water and cold air. noticed this when it was sat in newtown motors showroom over xmas.

Totally agree Brian.... and as for going across the line backwards..well it seems the Stig does this for all Morgans..remember he did it in the GTN Aero too..
