It’s changing beyond recognition - the lot down at Noss Mayo have built there own massive hotel and boatyard & marine training college.
They swallowed the Dart Marina complex without a sideways glance so monopoly they have now.
All very stainless and glass and totally characterless.
Mind the Dart Marina has been due a big lift it has never really changed dramatically in our 50 years down here. Bigger but not better.

Tomorrow the world. It looks like a monoply is developing in the south coast by the list of marinas Falmouth Dartmouth Noss on Dart Portland Weymouth Swanwick Universal East Cowes Haslar Marina Gosport Trafalgar Wharf Port Solent Southsea Chichester Brighton Eastbourne
I prefer the drama of the lower ferry but the trads don't like the ramp on the Dartmouth side & bottom. The higher is no problem. Haven't tried in a CX

A while back ( pre covid) I used the lower ferry in the Plus8. A "gentle" scrape of the railpipe on exiting on Dartmouth side. More recently I parked in the carpark near the seafront. Went to the pay machine. Cash only.....no change. Went to tourist info shed, no luck with change. They suggested buying something in the nearby M&S small shop. I got a can of cool drink, got the ticket. I now have a small bag of change ready in the car as so many pay machines fail. I use a card/phone wallet card/app as it is a lottery which one will work. Council or private carpark....both the same.

I believe that is the crest of the Sultan of Oman from my days out there. I think you got it Bruce, this place took over after Joyce left the top spot at the Cherub. She was probably still around during your time here she was Michelin. The Cherub, say no more.

Strictly speaking "al Gatto Nero" is "at the Black Cat". Why the "at" I don't know and I have not searched deeply enough to see what is the historical reason. There is a restaurant with the same name at Torino. Apparently George Clooney likes Il Gato Nero, “The Black Cat”, at Cernobbio, on Lake Como, and there are several other restaurants with similar names around Italy.
