Heading up North at 3.30am tomorrow. First stop probably Hamilton Services around breakfast time all being well. Finishing off the Gairloch loop this year, because the only section of NC500 we haven't done is the Northern loop from Gairloch. Morgan is packed, almost. That is a "drive it" few days for sure... Seems like the weather gods are on your side Dave.... We also dropped on last year. Did the main route over 3 days. Up there for 8 days, and no rain. Just windy and cold, but that's OK.

Off to Pendine on Monday to see Babs doing a run on the beach. A couple of weeks ago we were in Scotland again. Dave...we stopped in Gairloch Hotel for a coffee. Just planning next year's return....again.

Son’s wedding weekend ……..she is Spanish. Her parents over so it was early meal out, Sadlers Wells for Don Quixote. Would have understood it if it was in English ! (Joke) . Friday it was the wedding (not church) followed by a meal at a Michelin star restaurant. . Those boys know how to charge for wine !!!! Evening pub with their friends and some family friends. A lovely day in sunny London Town today planned , followed by fish & chips in newspaper tonight with champagne ( perfect meal for me, not deconstructed nonsense ) .’ Sunday airport trip and home to relax and finalise doing the thing all over again in Spain in August with loads of people. Now really worried those flying in might get flights cancelled and will petrol be in short supply for our drive to Spain? Relying on Trump !?
Everyone as the thread title, enjoy whatever you are doing, MM PS the wedding starts at 7pm, the wedding breakfast is at 10 at night ! Are the Spanish mad , how we will keep going until the open bar closes at 5am ! Well after our bedtime.

Set off at 3.30am. Clear run. 9 hours with stops. One classic. V12 E Type fixed head. Plus one Aston roof down. Then about a dozen supermarkets of indeterminate makes. Only the single Aston in the group waved. Now at Fort Augustus. No problems with fuel. No queues. Two busier filling stations at Fort William but not crammed and quite usual.

If indeed it is all a matter of timing, I think you may well have cracked it for your selected section of the N.C. 500 Dave, between the weather and real or imagined fuel issues, the latter perhaps discouraging many who might otherwise have been heading Northward...

Met fellow Cranmoggers on the A10. Five of us. Guess the combined mileage of the cars all +8s, the only Morgan to drive is over 1 million miles.

Nothing beats turning dollar/pound notes into exhaust notes. Happy Miles.
