Thanks for feedback. Seems like a no brainer to use a series RR though if having to replace faulty OE.

I have been using the H-D Electra Glide regulator now for the last 10 years with no problems. I suspect I may work on the basis: "If it ain't broke; don't fix it." Sadly I should be using my M3W at the moment, in the south of France but I became ill on the trip driving down from the UK to the south of France, with a trapped spinal nerve and acute hip bursitis and had to be medevac'd back to the UK, where I am currently on bedrest.
