John thanks for the update on the available mod for Indian foot to hand clutch, but unfortunately my m/cycling days are over. For those doubters on the impossibility of Triumph and other non Jap bikes of a certain age remaining oil tight , I watched both these bikes ride in and park up alongside me, without dripping any lubricant.. thumbs Which is nothing like the old bangers I used to rebuild..!

I'm probably in a minority..... but....... I like the look of a trad with the hood up.........🤷🏻‍♂️😁
I don't even mind driving with the hood up..... if it's lashing it down......😁
It did rain today while I was out for a thrash round but I was only 3 or 4 miles from home so it wasn't too bad..... annoyingly though it washed some of the 'barn find' dust off it....😂

I enjoy the difference in the pouring rain and I agree they look good up.

Surprise, surprise, I fully agree that a Morgan looks very smart with it`s hood in place, and would I rather drive in heavy rain top down... no way. On the other hand would I prefer to drive a tin top sports car in in the rain, say an old air cooled 911....you bet..!

I've driven a few Morgans with the traditional hood, where it didn't really seem to make that much of a difference whether the hood was up or down, especially at speed in high winds, it was only a case of degree of wetness you experienced. WIth the hood bellowing upwards leaving massive gaps over the top of the side screens that would also pop out from the front windscreen pillars.

Such is life, when you have water running forwards and backwards along your floorboards each time you brake or accelerated........

I concur - I think the quirky styling on the 4 seater soft top gives the car a 'keystone cops' kind of look. As I keep mine outdoors I tend to put the hood up late October, and leave it up until March.

Can't say I've noticed to many problems when the hood is up - I have the Librands side screen steady bars which keep everything locked in nicely, and I stick a chunk of rubber window seal on the lip part of the front screen edge. I have also added small thumb screws to the window frame to keep the windows locked shut.

Keeps everything dry and toasty smile

Even my CX hood can still lift in strong side and head on winds, enough for you to get your hand over the frame and under the edge of the hood. Some what of a cold breeze in winter, but there again the door seals aren't the best sealing especially with my sidescreens in situ. Things have improved, I no longer have to keep a leather inside the car to dry off the inside of the screen during rain or come to that wear wax cottons to keep reasonable dry.

I got caught once in my first Plus 8 left home no side screens or roof in the car, weather looking good so drove to Bridport and the heavens opened and didn’t stop until I put her in the garage.

She had 2” of water in each footwell, carpets out and a couple of 1/2 inch holes drilled in each footwell did the trick. Later I put some rubber bungs in the marine ply and ready for next time. A lot of hours spent with her hairdryer out there.’
