Looks like a nice drive out Jens .... it always amazes me where palm trees can grow ... there are even some in gardens in my local town of Fraserburgh ... windy, coastal and nothing between it and the Arctic 🙂
K I have sailed to islands with palm trees..... One of which was the island Bute, palms were along the side of Rothsay bay, must have taken perhaps as much as an hour to sail there...(-: The other Island with palms was Ghia in the sound of Jura, where Mr Horlicks of the malted milk drink fame, had large house with ornamental gardens. Seemingly the Gulf Stream assisted in the well being of the palm and other exotic plants which he collected..

Fired up the old Mog this morning the previous hot days were just too hot for me.... Headed up into the Trossachs, and took on the Three Lochs Drive, just which is a loose gravel single track and one way road with a speed limit of 10 MPH, go any faster in dry weather and your car will be covered in dust... Just bumbled along in first often below 1k revs, and taking in the sights and aroma of the pines for circa 7 miles. Very fortunately my old Mog does not suffer from overheating and it was comforting to listen to the electric rad fan cutting in and out while the water temps climbed a little and dropped again staying around the 90Deg point on the gauge.. On the drive to and From the Trossachs I had the road to myself on many stretches, though staying wide on the tight corners (of which there are many)...(-: keeping an eye out for cyclists, of which there were a few. Hope to post a couple of pics from my day.. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2026/05/28/_DSC8441-b.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2026/05/28/_DSC8450-b.jpg) Three Lochs Forest Drive Forest Visitor Guide | FLS

Excellent example shot depicting the sensible level of ground clearance on our Plus 8's on good profile tyres (55's) which also soak up the potholes compared to the later elastic band standard fit tyres of CX series..
The 4/4 Sport on 80 Section tyres the potholes are barely perceptible and my weapon of choice for covering distance now despite Henrietta now showing 117,700mls and 45mpg driven briskly.
The lake looks nice.

When was that Keith, a friend of ours (Pete) did his there and went out and worked in Malta for their branch to get his hours up before going to the airlines. Sadly they were corrupt and the police out there were involved and at one stage he was told to leave the country as there was a price on his head. He did that and still lives in fear of his life and never returned to flying such was the effect.

January 1990 started course, I was the only one on it but there was another lad there who had passed and was looking for a job he gave me B&B while I was there.

Aircraft were a childhood fascination that never left, imaging growing up in that big house overlooking the airfield, you’d have front row seats everyday.
Car looks great by the way, a Morgan blends in well at airshows.
