Greetings to you, riri!
This is not an exact sciencei. wink Over time, the Morgan factory, mechanics and owners, switch around change these instrument cluster lights, their colours, their wiring, their light type and holders. After your car's 30 years, it is impossible to know what you have, Try this https://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/DashLights.html. As you drive your Morgan, confirm what the lights mean and correct the wiring as you wish. Morgans of your era are very owner-friendly.

Well done.

Yes, Handbooks were/are often wrong either in minor (a dash light colour) or major way, wrong fuelling system). Dashes changed..giving the community many lovely aftermarket choices, many without plastic.

the next orange for the key, when it is in the lock and turns arround.
then the red?
then the blue is for the high beams.
the last red is for the immobilizer

Try tripping the fuel cut off switch as I imagine that will be it. Having said that once someone has started playing around with the electrics who knows.

And yours is a non standard dashboard and warning lights arrangement, a bit of logic and testing the various options out will reveal the functions for you.

Yes Richard! I originally had the stock affair you showed on one of my Plus 8s. Like so many in that dash era. I too swapped the original dash for an upgraded dash from Germany. They do such lovely work!
As you know Morgan burl chips. And personally, I deeply dislike plastic.

These artisans use better materials and can tint the burl to lean towards to colour of the car. In my case, I also had the instrument plaque painted the colour of the car and upgraded my VDO bezels like niri.

Quite so! These MMC light colours are confusing and time and rewiring don't help.. Here is riri's dash resized for ease of viewing, along with the picture of my 1990s UK Plus 8 (much like riri'sbut an iffy image) to give all a fuller look along and last with a MMC stock 1998. (US). Riri, do you know whether yours is a Kaufelt or a Lieberfinger? You can answer me off-group if you wish.

Lorne

P.S.After three decades, some playing around with electrics is unavoidable. wink But as Richard suggests, these things here can be dealt with by any owner. I also found the high beam blue too bright and dimmed it a bit.

gomog is the seeming expert on these things.

I don't care for the kit car looks that these round warning lamps convey, they just look cheap but as ever beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I keep all my Morgan's in the same unmodified condition (ex factory) including the one shot oiler system on my 27 year old Plus 8 - if used as instructed in the handbook it works perfectly well.

Authenticity and minimalism is my thing, not bling - no badges or spotlights etc..
