The UK accounts for about a third of sales, followed closely by Germany. Next highest is the USA, followed by a combination of Belgium, Netherlands and France. I think that’s what the tour guide said anyway - and an internet search shows a similar pattern.

Yes Germany and US have traditionally been strong markets, the UK sales has fallen from over 50% in the 80's. It's good to see they are diversifying their markets, expanding the brand image and creating new markets for Morgan. Long may they prosper.

Think it's just the +4 in the US at the moment, due to the cost of type approval?
I wish the factory well and success with these models. But, I do hope very much they continue with the traditional shape. I haven't taken to the Supersport look, colours, wheels yet.
I feel lucky to have found one of the last +6s, which for me, is best of both worlds. Horses for courses! But a +4 would have been an easy 2nd choice, just as good on real roads. They just make me smile when I look at them. When I look at a Supersport, I'm making an effort to like the look of it. That plastic vent on top of the 400's wings (and Porsche Boxter wheels) makes it harder.

quote=MartO]That plastic vent on top of the 400's wings ... makes it harder.[/quote] It was Evo who said "with new vents on top of the front wheelarches to extract high-pressure air, there are light shades of Morgan’s GT racing cars of the ’90s and ’00s. Air extracted from the front arches also feeds into the low-pressure pocket of air around the wings that’s a peculiarity of the Morgan shape, reducing lift and drag alike."I'm off to get my tin opener!

Here, then, is the inevitable comment from one of the flat-capper-crowd.
To me, the car looks as if a modern, aggressive sports car—let’s say something like a TVR Sagaris—and a classic Morgan +4 had a baby, and this is the result. The basic shape of the body, which still follows the classic design ideals of the 1930s, clashes in my eyes with modern details like the big black front spoiler box, rear diffuser, black air vents, empty radiator grilles, and empty LED headlights.
A hardtop that will probably never be removed? When driving with the top down has always been at the heart of the Morgan concept?
Do I have to like it? No, I have a Morgan in my garage that I really love. And I couldn’t afford the new one anyway, but as a Morgan enthusiast of decades, I’ll take the liberty of shaking my head in bewilderment at the current developments.
I just come from the vintage cars and motorcycles scene, which might explain my purism. Someone who's been driving modern Porsches or cars like that sees such things differently. Different worlds.
The car certainly has fantastic performance figures and driving characteristics. And it’s certainly met with broad approval here. In that regard, I wish everyone who buys such a car much enjoyment with it.

I don'r regret replacing my 2002 Plus8 with a MY23 Plus Four. Yes...cost a fair bit but I am enjoying it more and more. Only negative is losing the V8 sound...BUT..I replace it with Sport mode/paddle shifting and some far###g exhaust noises on lift-off. Just enough without the chavvy overdone mods. Hmmmmm entering my second (third) childhood.

KH have an ECU upgrade for a Plus six to 435 bhp. Just saying. I suspect Supersports are aimed at another market. The quality & ride are very refined buy for 140 k or so they should be.

Just to point out - the hard top is an option, just as on the standard Supersport.
