Use rat trap spikes under the front wheels, they wont get far with two punctured tyres and tyres are cheaper to replace than cars.

Not worth getting involved in agro...never too sure who is later on determining your appropriate use of 'proportionality of response' to defend yourself and or/your property and potentail later on in the cold light of day legal consequences for yourself.

20 years ago we sustained some vandalism to one of our containerised Radio Navigational Station in Shotesham Norfolkshire, so I duly trotted up there from Devon and they did what they had to do and I signed whatever ot was to the nice Lady Sargaent.

During the course of the conversation about the chavs and low life's I reminded her that we had an infux of them on the Campsites in Devon coincident with the crime level rocketing for our area and that we slept with a wooden baseball bat under the bed and neither of us would hesitate in using it should we have an unwelcome guest appear out of the blue. She really was shocked that people felt that the threat was so real we felt this necessary, not reading the room in their police enclaves I suspect.,

John ... can totally see your point ... but can't help feeling that our current feeble response to these crimes has emboldened what is a tiny recidivist section of our community to feel they can brazenly act without consequence. You see any number of vids from our major cities of two or three masked chavs with a couple of mopeds smashing or cutting the security locks off someone's two-wheeled pride and joy then making off with it ... while one of the others waves a hammer at anyone who gets too close.

If a few passing burly builders stopped and broke a few arms and legs, then drove on things might change .... of course it would rely on none of the increasing herd of hand-wringers dobbing them in to the cops because " they're misunderstood/victims of racism and/or austerity" .... or they might have mislaid their keys! 😀

I have a personal pessimistic theory that we've only had our relatively law-abiding period to live through courtesy of the likes of Hanging Judge Jeffries and robust policing and punishment whipping criminals into line .... if we carry on abdicating and equivocating enforcement as we are, then we'll have to go through those dark times again to pull it back ... I'd rather see a consistent and effective justice system now than floggings and hangings in the future! *

Don't misunderstand me, I think we should be tough on policing all crimes and have appropriate punishment for offenders especially repeat offenders. I was glad to see that the before criminal proceedings were instigated it had to be over £200 of goods stolen was removed recently, ....theft is theft. Many small retail businesses cannot survive in the current environment especially with the assaults on staff, made much when the under £200 no criminal action taken, created effectively a criminals charter.

I'd rather see floggings and hangings now tbh - that is why we are where we are no dissinsentive they need a good smacking a lot of them, it's not our fault their parents lacked the balls to tell them no and teach them wrong from right.

It had and has it's knockers but National Service completed the job these lazy parents never started.

Get them cleaning the bogs for the Prison Service if NS is not to your liking.
