The reason for all this work is that I bought these brake pads back in 2021; being a bit curious, I figured I could manage to adapt them—and I didn't have much to lose (they cost 35 euros). I dug up the invoice: the first set I received (TRW GBD902) was the wrong part number, while the second set (Ferodo FDB173) actually fits Bedford, Opel, Vauxhall, Lotus, and Daewoo vehicles. The friction material is standard passenger-car grade, though there are companies that can reline brake pads.
I wouldn't recommend doing what I did—unless, of course, you find yourself in need of brake pads somewhere between Ouagadougou and Timbuktu.
