Finally........ after all these years ok talking tosh on TM we have at last come up with a topic of national importance.......🇬🇧🇬🇧
Cut the scone in half. Put as much strawberry jam on as is possible. Put as much clotted cream on as is possible.
Eat and repeat.....😁
also, it is pronounced 'SKON'....... not 'scohhhnnne'....😁

I eat multi-cultural scones with cream and jam....... Cut/split scone in half. Put cream on one and jam on the other. Re-unite the halves. Take a bite, eat then turn it over and take second bite.... Thus alternating between the two cultures of Devon and Cornwall. A solution of some genius .... you don't fancy a job in the Middle-East do you?? K

It tastes the same, whether jam or cream is on top. The main thing is a freshly baked crumbly scone or two, fresh out of the oven. Jam and cream are almost fail safe. Home made jam beats bought in jam, although fancy brands work well enough. Rodda's cream is our choice and you get the yellowy crusty top. Wev'e sampled dozens of scones in the field. The best tend to be at fancy hotels because they make their own. We've had some ghastly scones in tea rooms where they microwave them and you get something with an uncooked doughy mess in the centre. The very best large warm freshly baked scones will cut or seperate effortlessly into three layers. These are exceptionally rare. Oh and we once had a cream tea at the Mullion Cove Hotel, (a GWR Railway Hotel) , and on the next table was a farmer and wife who supply milk to Rodda's, and had won a free cream tea from somewhere. An expert? Me? Dave, no mention of Mrs Cooperladies fresh out of the oven scones ??

A lone scone is not enough - or as the Frenchman might say "un œuf" is not enough"

Down in delightful Dorset for a few days with our ‘adopted Slovenian grandkids’. Didn’t pass WestCoker Chris and his white Morgan as we took them close by to marvel at the view from Ham Hill ! ! Saw a lovely Plus 8 in a garage at Melpash which I thought might be up for sale but in for ‘service’ . Steering wheel pops of for easy access but being from London I thought it was to stop it being stolen !! Mid late 80s & Looked great condition - owner on here?
So we are off for breakfast at the Hive but certainly all this talk of cream teas has given me the idea to take them for one this afternoon. Any locals know of a good place to try within 15 miles of Bridport. Finally for those interested in planes, the RAF are having a 5 day exercise over the Dorset coast this week . That might be interesting for one of the Slovenians who is building ann ev race car and thoroughly enjoyed the Haynes motor museum whilst the girl enjoyed the sights and joss smells of Glastonbury ! Best to all and its, stir & mix the jam and cream together before applying to said scone ! Heathen MM
