Modern cars have a break dust shield fixed beneath the break disks. It protects against water and mud. Trad Morgans don't. Are there aftermarket parts and in what case would it make sense to add them?

Can't help with source but it would make sense to add them if you have wire wheels. They act like a fan in heavy rain throwing water onto the discs which then causes a short delay before full braking effect is acheived.

I seem to remember that fairly recently there was a series of posts about the fitting of brake dust shields to wire wheels and the conclusion was it can't be done with any real effectiveness or aesthetically. However It would be good if a great mind could produce a solution!

The only realistic way is to modify what's available, which probably narrows it down to British Classic Sports cars. But even with the right diameter, the cut-out for the caliper is unlikely to match, and fixing in place will likely involve complex metal bending.
